About the role:

The post sits within the Media Innovation Studio in the School of Arts and Media, home to internationally recognised teaching and research in journalism, media innovation, and leadership development. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Journalism Innovation and Leadership to support teaching and supervision during 2026. The role will contribute to the design and delivery of research-led learning for mid-career professionals enrolled on the part-time, distance-learning MA Journalism Innovation and Leadership Programme, with a particular focus on leading the Research for Media Work and Advanced Applied Learning Project modules.

About you:

You will bring experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising research in journalism, media management, or related fields, ideally within higher education or professional development contexts. You will hold a relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (MA, MBA, or equivalent), and demonstrate expertise in research design, journalism innovation, media sustainability, or leadership practice. Strong communication skills, the ability to support diverse postgraduate learners, and experience working in online or blended settings are essential. A PhD or substantial professional experience would be advantageous.
