Allied Health Professionals within Nottinghamshire Healthcare are at the forefront of a range of multi-disciplinary, specialist services for people with complex needs, using their expertise around promoting recovery, enablement and positive risk taking, to add life to years, prevent relapse and reduce risks. As a speech and language therapist you will provide preventative information and guidance, work to empower parents, carers, other professionals and agencies to support speech, language and communication skills as well as eating and drinking. You will provide individual assessment, individual and/or group therapy and management, training, advice and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate. You will work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person and family- centred services through tailored packages of care, training and mentoring in the most appropriate setting, including the clients home. You must hold a relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with RCSLT and HCPC or be in your final year of training with the view to graduate by the end of the academic year. You will be well supported by senior colleagues across these settings, with many opportunities for peer support. The role involves close work with colleagues from a range of disciplines and the post is supported by an assistant SLT. You will enjoy close links with our team and our SLT colleagues within the East Midlands, and benefit from excellent levels of support, supervision, IT and CPD opportunities. You will be working towards your competencies and gaining your fully qualified status with HCPC and RCSLT at the usual time frames. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
