Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our school team and provide high-quality support to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role involves working closely with the class teacher to deliver targeted learning support, promote positive behaviour, and assist in creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support SEN and mainstream pupils to access all areas of the curriculum.

Deliver pre-planned learning and care programmes under teacher guidance.

Assist with literacy, numeracy, and early years interventions.

Help maintain an orderly, supportive classroom environment.

Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers.

Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional well-being.

Assist with displays, resources, and classroom organisation.

Provide 1:1 or group support and occasional class cover when required.

Support learning through ICT and help develop pupil independence.

Ensure pupil safety and uphold safeguarding, health, and safety policies.

Participate in meetings, training, and whole-school activities.

Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.

Ability to follow teacher guidance and work effectively as part of a team.

Understanding of SEN support and inclusive learning.

Adaptable, patient, and committed to pupil progress.

Qualification

Minimum: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.

Desirable: Background in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
