Summary

Personal Assistant Required-Clitheroe


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to an autistic child aged 10 within the local community.

As a Personal Assistant your duties will include supporting the child to access extra-curricular activities on a regular basis and develop friendships with peers of a similar age via activities such as sports activities, arts and craft, STEM and outdoors activities. Assisting the chid with verbal communication with peers and helping them to interpret meaning, to avoid misunderstandings and conflict.

We are looking for a fun and active individual with a passion for working with children with special educational needs, in particular speech and language difficulties.

Previous experience of supporting children who have suffered trauma is essential, as is a positive attitude and good work ethic. You must be punctual and reliable, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A driver with a full clean license is required and you must be prepared to acquire business car insurance which covers you to carry a passenger.
It is desirable that you hold Paediatric First Aid certificate accredited by FIAB to comply with Health and Safety Regulations 1981, alternatively training will be provided.

This is a part time position for an average of 6 - 7.5 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.21 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme. Additional hours will be offered during school holidays, although you will not be obligated to provide more than 7.5 hours support per week.
