Job Overview
The Security Manager is responsible for the effective supervision, coordination, and performance of all security personnel operating across sites. Acting as the primary point of contact for all security matters the role ensures that all protective security measures, access control, incident responses, and site procedures are adhered to in accordance with the organisational policy and security-cleared environments.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to a team of security operators across two locations.
- Ensure staffing levels are maintained, managing rota issues, sickness, and operational cover.
- Conduct daily briefings, tasking, and performance monitoring.
- Mentor and coach team members to maintain high professional standards.
Site Security Operations
- Oversee and enforce site access controls, visitor management, and identity verification in line with security protocols.
- Monitor security systems (CCTV, alarms, entry systems) and coordinate responses to any irregularities.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, and processing of classified material.
Incident Response & Reporting
- Act as the initial point of contact for security incidents during operational hours.
- Lead incident responses, escalate as required, and ensure accurate recording and reporting.
- Support completion of security investigations or after-action reviews.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure sites adhere to organisational, legal, and regulatory security policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections, compliance checks, and risk assessments.
- Report any vulnerabilities, deficiencies, or improvements needed.
Communication & Liaison
- Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders, senior management, and external partners where appropriate.
- Represent the security team at meetings, briefings, and coordination sessions.
- Provide updates on site status, issues, and operational needs.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and supervisory capability.
- Excellent situational awareness, judgement, and decision-making.

- High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive or classified information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multi-site responsibilities.
- Ability to meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreement
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Experience & Qualifications
- SIA Licence holder and CCTV trained
- Prior experience in a security officer or supervisory security role.
- First Aid
- Experience working in Secure or Government-regulated environments (desirable).
- Conflict management, and security-related training (desirable).
Clearance Required: Extended security (DV) clearance required will need to be passed prior to starting the position. This can take up to 12 months and will involve a detailed check into a person.
