About the Role




The Compleat Food Group is looking for a Hygiene Manager to lead and manage hygiene and pest control activities across our site.
This is a hands-on role where you will ensure the site operates safely, complies with legislation, and meets both customer and
company standards. You will lead the hygiene team, drive continuous improvement, and implement innovative solutions to maintain
and elevate hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities




* Manage day-to-day hygiene operations and pest management across the site.
* Lead, train, and develop the hygiene team, including succession planning.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, TCFG hygiene standards, and customer requirements.
* Develop and implement strategic hygiene plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Identify and implement new systems, technologies, and ways of working to enhance hygiene practices.
* Support audits, inspections, and pre-audit preparations.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Technical, Engineering, Procurement, etc.).
* Control and manage the hygiene department budget.
* Support product process and design from a hygiene perspective.

What We’re Looking For




Skills & Knowledge:

* Strong technical and hygiene expertise, including food microbiology, Listeria management, chemical management, and health &
safety.
* Experience managing complex hygiene/technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of UK/EU food legislation, BRC standards, and retailer COPs.
* Proficient in MS Office, hygiene management systems, and ERP systems.
* Lead auditor trained and/or “train the trainer” qualified.

* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise, and solve problems effectively.
* Thrives in a challenging environment and can manage multiple priorities.
* Forward-thinking with a focus on continuous improvement.

Experience:

* Proven track record of managing hygiene or technical teams at a senior level.
* Experience delivering training, development, and succession planning.
* Experience managing audits, inspections, and customer interactions.
* Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple teams.
