Your New CompanyA nationally recognised construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Architect to join its Nottingham office. Established for over 50 years, this practice has built a strong reputation for delivering inspirational and practical design solutions across a wide range of sectors.
Your New RoleAs a Senior Architect, you will play a pivotal role in leading architectural design services across diverse sectors. Acting as a key advisor to clients, you will manage multi‑disciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards. From feasibility studies to site meetings, your expertise will guide every stage of the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects valued between £300k-£10m.
- Interpret complex client briefs and develop strategic design responses aligned with sector requirements.
- Act as Lead Consultant, coordinating with external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Produce site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning applications, including those requiring security clearance.
- Prepare detailed designs for competitive tender, manage tendering processes, and conduct post‑tender analysis.
- Serve as Project Manager/Contract Administrator, overseeing site progress, technical compliance, and financial performance.
- Ensure adherence to UK Building Regulations and sector‑specific standards.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior architects and technicians.
- Promote collaborative working across disciplines and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Support business development through client engagement and proposal input.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- RIBA Part III qualified.
- Proven experience in the defence sector or other secure environments.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; BIM experience desirable.
- Excellent design, technical, and graphic communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations and NBS specification writing.
- Ability to work within QA standards and contribute to sustainability objectives.
- Experience of a multi‑discipline project environment, ideally across Defence, Maritime or similar infrastructure settings (desirable but not essential).
