Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe Teaching Assistant will be entrusted with key support duties, including:

Pastoral Care: Provide sensitive and consistent pastoral support, helping to embed the school's core values and encourage positive pupil behaviour.

Literacy Intervention: Plan and deliver evidence-based small group and 1:1 sessions, particularly focusing on phonics and early reading skills.

Collective Worship Support: Assist in preparing the environment and managing groups during periods of Collective Worship or assemblies.

Resource Organisation: Prepare specialised teaching materials for lessons across the curriculum, including materials for Religious Education (RE).

Pupil Observation: Conduct structured observations of key pupils, providing detailed, written feedback to inform the Class Teacher's planning and assessment.

Liaison: Support communication between teachers and parents regarding daily pupil progress and welfare updates.
The school expects applicants to meet the following criteria:

Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is essential.

Experience: Proven experience working in a UK primary school, ideally in a setting with a strong defined ethos.

Professionalism: Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional conduct within a school community.

Skills: High levels of patience, resilience, and effective verbal communication skills.

Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
