Summary

The Best Connection Sheffield are recruiting for a Van driver in the Rotherham area. This is to work along side a long standing reputable business. This position plays a crucial role in helping to transform the lives of those in need.

This is a temporary with a high possibility of permanent position, following a successful trial period

!IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE!

In this role you would be required to deliver, collect and install disability equipment in the community, service users homes, hospitals and health centres. This will included mobility aids and equipment such as walking frames and crutches to more complex equipment such as beds, hoists, and chairs.

Duties:

  • Driving company van safely and in line with all safety protocols.
  • Mandatory vehicle checks and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
  • Adhering stringently to company processes especially around loading and unloading of equipment
  • Multiple deliveries daily (these can be quite heavy items i.e chairs and beds)
  • Providing polite, empathetic and client focused service, taking into account service used may be bereaved, vulnerable. As well as some houses may be in a poor state of repair or dirty.
  • Understanding and demonstrating the correct functionality and safe installation of items.
  • Identifying, repair and replace faulty stock.
  • Being able to identify and report immediately any perceived safe guarding issues with your line manager.
  • Undertake dynamic risk assessments on activities relating to themselves, modifications, and fabrications prior to undertaking any work/duties, and should they believe that there be a risk of injury to any person then they should seek further instruction - at all times service users should not be put at risk.
  • Use of a scanner to complete jobs, competent in adding notes/comments onto the scanner to keep prescribers and the depot fully informed of the days progress.
  • Adhering to time slots to the best of you ability and liaise with service users and management
  • Being on call on a rotational basis receiving enhanced allowance for this is provided
  • Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and company regulations.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence and have been driving for minimum of 3 years
  • Maximum 3 points
  • Over 21 for insurance purposes
  • Physically Capable - heavy manual handling is involved.
