Summary


To assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective legal service to the Trust, its Committees, departments and other related bodies. Particularly with Court of Protection and Inquest work to include advocacy.


• To represent the Trust in the Court of Protection, Inquests and legal proceedings in the Magistrates Court and County Court, Public Inquiries and employment tribunals etc.
• To provide and to assist with the provision of legal advice and guidance to directorates as required, particularly in respect of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended), Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated legislation.
• To participate in the development of corporate policies, practice and procedures.
• To attend meetings and give effective legal advice to Directorates, Services, committees or sub-committees of the Trust as required.
• To undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be required.
