Summary

We are currently recruiting for an SEN Secondary Class Teacher to join a SEND Specialist School in Brent, Northwest London.

Role Details:

· Contract: Temp - perm, full-Time (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm)

We are seeking an experienced SEN Secondary Class Teacher to deliver high-quality, personalised teaching for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will plan and deliver an inclusive, engaging curriculum that supports pupils academic, social, and emotional development, while helping them achieve their EHCP outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across secondary-level core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and foundation subjects, adapted for pupils with SEND.
· Implement individualised learning programmes aligned with pupils EHCPs and school curriculum.
· Support pupils with ASD, PMLD, SEMH, and complex needs, using inclusive strategies and sensory approaches.
· Promote communication and interaction skills, incorporating AAC, Makaton, and assistive technologies where appropriate.
· Teach personal, social, and life skills to foster independence and emotional well-being.
· Monitor and assess progress against SMART targets and EHCP outcomes, maintaining accurate records.
· Work collaboratively with TAs, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
· Ensure compliance with safeguarding, SEND statutory requirements, and school policies.

Person Specification
Essential:
· QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
· Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND in a secondary setting
· Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and differentiation strategies
Skills:
· Classroom management tailored to diverse needs
· Ability to use AAC and assistive technology
Desirable:
· Knowledge of Makaton, TEACCH, and sensory integration strategies

Requirements
· QTS
· Enhanced DBS (Child and adult workforce) on Update Service
· Two recent professional references
· Right to work in the UK
