Summary
Senior Care Assistant, based at Bramble Down Nursing Home, Denbury - 36 to 42 hours per week, to include alternate weekends. £13.15, £13.40 per hour at weekends.
Lead with Heart. Care with Strength.
Some jobs are tough. Some are messy. This one is both… and somehow still rewarding enough to make you want to show up every day.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you’re not just helping residents - you’re the team’s secret superhero. The calm voice when things get chaotic, the guiding hand when someone panics, and the steady presence who helps make every day smoother and brighter.
It’s early mornings. Emotional goodbyes. Spilled tea. Mystery smells. And yes, responsibilities that don’t clock off at 5 pm.
But it’s also the laughs when a resident cracks the perfect joke, the quiet moments of genuine connection, and the kind of satisfaction that makes you forget the coffee stains on your shirt.
What you’ll do:
Lead and inspire a team of care assistants with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
Ensure every resident is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect - always.
Building meaningful relationships with residents, learning what makes them feel happy, safe, and at home.
Work closely with other staff, health care professionals, families, and managers to deliver the best care possible.
Update and maintain electronic care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they reflect the evolving needs of each individual, from pre-admission onward (because paperwork is still a part of the magic!)
Use the eMAR system to safely administer medication without breaking a sweat.
Be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff, and visitors within the home.
Be present in the day-to-day: from personal care to emotional support, and everything in between.
Who you are:
An experienced care assistant or senior with the skills - and heart - to lead by example.
Calm under pressure, great with people, and grounded in empathy.
Passionate about meaningful care, not just ticking boxes.
NVQ Level 3 or working towards it? Even better.
What we offer:
A team that listens, supports, and values your voice.
Fully paid training and plenty of career progression opportunities
Induction programme with a dedicated mentor to help you feel supported and comfortable in your new role
Free DBS check and auto-enrolment pension
The use of ‘Flex Earn’ enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time
Blue Light Card eligibility – discounts on retail, eating out, and more!
Free meals provided when working long shifts
Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home’s ‘Whycare?’ app and Refer a Friend scheme (earn money for bringing your friends on board!)
The joy of being part of someone’s final chapter - and making sure it’s filled with comfort, respect, and love.
This isn’t just a step up - it’s a chance to roll up your sleeves and do work that matters, with people who get it and moments that remind me why you got into care in the first place.
If you’re ready to lead with heart, grit, and a little bit of flair, we’d love to have you on board.
