Summary

We are recruiting for a Commercial Maintenance Engineer for a client located in Halifax (HX4), but offering services across Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, and the Humber.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain permanent employment with a well-estabished, expanding company. Due to the nature of the services offered, the client are looking for a multi-skilled engineer who as experience in plumbing, joinery, and decorating.

Start date is 5th January 2026.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, supporting team members where required
• Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Knowledge and experience in like for like plumbing and joinery repairs
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs or installations
• Liaise with onsite Site Services to manage any Building Services related issues, responding confidently and accurately as required
• Follow Risk Assessments and be available to question any issues which arise from them safely and accurately
• Completion of the required documentation as specified with the requirements of all rules and legislation
• Use of emailing / calendars to plan your daily work requirements so that all tasks are completed effortlessly and efficiently.
• To work overtime as and when the business requires, this may include nights and weekends to which notice may not always be given
• Perform adhoc duties as and when required

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Proven experience in maintenance or related field
• Strong maintenance knowledge and aptitude
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel nationwide as required
• Excellent customer service skills to interact with staff and customers and address their concerns
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
• Identify and manage the risks to the client
• Support others in the department in relation to Health and Safety
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Hours:
• Monday to Friday
• 07.30am-16.00pm
• Overtime may be required, including nights and weekends

Salary:
• £16.70 hourly rate
