Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our Planning Manager you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and keeping delivery on track for our mains replacement programmes.

- Making sure work is properly programmed and mobilised to site on time.
- Working with highway authorities to agree road space and permit conditions.
- Agreeing construction programmes and sequencing with our subcontractors.
- Planning resources for both short term (weekly/monthly) and longer term requirements.
- Ensuring all scheme requirements are in place, including traffic management, permits, traffic orders and parking bay suspensions.
- Working closely with the ECI team and providing input into pricing submissions.
- Acting as custodian for the programme across all allocated projects, keeping it up to date and a true reflection of current and future work.
- Producing forecasts and reports as required under the contract.
- Attending programme review meetings to update progress, highlight concerns and challenge productivity where needed.

What you’ll bring

- Proven experience in mobilisation and delivery of mains replacement or similar utility construction projects.
- Confidence managing several schemes in different locations at the same time.
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to manage and challenge subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
- Solid experience maintaining accurate programmes in Microsoft Project.
- The ability to work across different time horizons:
- Short term (next week, next month)
- Medium term (next six months)
- Long term (the coming year and remainder of the contract)
