Shift PatternMonday - Thursday:
- 06:00 - 14:00
- 14:00 - 22:00
- (Weekly rotating)
Friday:
- 06:00 - 13:00
- 13:00 - 20:00
- (Weekly rotating)
The ATU Technician will support the setup, operation, and maintenance of test rigs, including mechanical fitting, diagnostics, and calibration tasks. You will ensure accurate and reliable testing of components for performance, durability, and emissions validation.
Facilities include:
- Engine Test (Performance & Validation)
- Vehicle Test
- Rig Test (Performance & Validation)
- Specialist Environmental Rigs
- NVH Rigs
- Fuel Injection Equipment (FIE) build
- Assemble and install diesel components onto test rigs
- Build and maintain fluid circuits, pipework, and instrumentation
- Install and calibrate transducers, sensors, and data acquisition systems
- Set up and execute test procedures (performance & endurance)
- Carry out mechanical fitting, disassembly, and reassembly of diesel engines and subsystems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs or component replacements
- Record and analyse test data using diagnostic software
- Support engineers with troubleshooting and test-related issues
- Perform planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs on test equipment
- Edit test programs as required
- Work safely and follow all documented processes and protocols
- Intermediate mechanical fitting skills
- Basic fuel injection system knowledge
- Basic instrumentation setup and operational skills
- Basic data acquisition skills
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)
- Basic test equipment programming (e.g., AVL Puma, National Instruments)
- Basic understanding of engine functions
- Understanding of rig function and/or engine test bed operation
- Good communication skills
- Basic risk assessment skills
