Crynodeb

Prior Heath Infant School is a welcoming and friendly school that offers pupils and staff a nurturing and supportive environment in which to thrive. As our Ofsted report highlights, 'There is a sense of joy at Prior Heath Infant School'.
At Prior Heath, we believe that children learn best through play, active learning and real-life experiences. We are looking for a skilled Senior Teaching Assistant to lead behaviour support under the direction of our SEND Manager. The successful candidate will take a proactive role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development across our infant school. They will lead targeted interventions, help other support staff to implement consistent behaviour approaches, and work directly with pupils who require additional support in Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). They will model exemplary practice, help maintain a nurturing and inclusive school culture, and contribute to the continuous improvement of whole-school behaviour systems. The postholder will also take on responsibility for leading our lunchtime provision, ensuring that our staff consistently model and facilitate play so that children feel happy and safe. There will be some first aid and basic intimate care requirements. The hours of work will be 8.40am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, however less hours will be considered if the person is right for our school. The successful candidate may be required to provide some classroom cover but all planning will be completed beforehand by the class teacher. The successful candidate must have GCSE English and Maths at grade C (or equivalent), HLTA qualification or equivalent qualification (although appropriate experience and willingness to be trained as a HLTA will be considered). Evidence of working within Early Years and/or Key Stage 1 are essential.Initially this post will be a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year but may be extended based upon the needs of our pupils for 2026/27. Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed and Mrs Chivers, our Headteacher, would be delighted to show you around.
Completed applications and equality forms should be returned to the confidential email address. Please note that interviews will be arranged upon receipt of applications from suitable candidates, therefore, you are urged to apply asap.
