As a Building Services Assistant, you’ll be right at the heart of our community, you’ll work closely with our Maintenance
Operative to keep our community spaces in top condition, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and aligned with our brand
standards.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Reactive Works:
You’ll assist with daily work orders, prioritising tasks with the Maintenance Operative, plus carrying out minor repairs and
decorating tasks in both communal areas and residents’ homes. From replacing light bulbs to providing emergency support for water
leaks, you’ll keep things running smoothly.
Statutory Compliance:
You’ll support the team in meeting compliance standards by completing worksheets, raising work orders, and reporting
non-compliance. You’ll also assist with energy-saving initiatives and ensure adherence to the Letting Code of Conduct.
Health and Safety:
You’ll conduct visual checks and tests on life safety equipment, ensure proper use of PPE and safety signage, and keep work areas
clean and safe. You’ll follow all UK Health & Safety legislation and dispose of waste in line with company policies.
Supporting Contractors and Planned Works:
You’ll escort maintenance engineers on-site, log their visits, and assist with planned maintenance activities to keep everything
on track.
Managing Site Stores:
You’ll help manage tools and critical spares, conduct regular inventory checks, and raise stock requests to ensure supplies are
always available.
Maintaining Building Plant Rooms and Support Areas:
You’ll keep plant rooms, risers, and maintenance areas clean and organised, assist with waste management, and carry out occasional
litter picking in external areas and car parks.
Delivering Exceptional Customer Service:
You’ll be a role model for our values, bringing a proactive, positive attitude to everything you do. You’ll ensure effective
communication and contribute to a motivated, engaged team.
What we’re looking for:
* IOSH Working Safely certification, with knowledge of manual handling and fire awareness.
* Experience in a similar role, with an understanding of minor repairs and decorating.
* A proactive, can do attitude with enthusiasm for customer service.
* A creative problem solver who works well independently and as part of a team.
