Summary
Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol charity that provides hope, love and a sense of belonging to people seeking asylum in Bristol. The charity was started 10 years ago on the Refugee camps in France by a local mum and has grown and evolved to support over 5000 people a year through our Free Shop and Welcome Hub, Activity Groups and Trips and Connections Befriending program. We have 336 volunteers and a fantastic, small team and we are looking for an Assistant Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our dedicated team. The job is for 2 days a week and based at the new ABC Hub, St Andrews area, Bristol.
This role would suit someone who has a passion for the plight of refugees, is interested in fundraising, highly organised, with excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
You will work closely with the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser supporting them to raise money from trusts and foundations and to achieve the budget fundraising targets agreed with Trustees. This work will involve researching potential trusts and foundations, through online databases, by reviewing income sources of other similar organisations and using ABC’s networks to uncover lesser-known trusts, often linked to one individual or family. It will also involve researching requirements for these potential trusts and summarising these for the wider organisation. Once a decision has been made to apply to a trust, your work is likely to involve writing parts of the application and collecting the necessary information from other staff as needed. If such an application is successful, you will liaise with the donor to establish their reporting requirements and write reports for the donor that respond to these.
You are likely to work with most of ABC’s staff team including with the Communications and Local Fundraiser whose work may overlap with yours in terms of drafting communications for use by the organisation. Because ABC has a small staff team, you may sometimes be asked to perform duties outside your job description when workloads are heavy.
