We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Stores Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe and organised working environment.

Job Description

As a Stores Assistant, you will be responsible for receiving deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and updating ERP systems. You will assist with inventory management, conduct stock checks, and ensure efficient order picking. The role also includes operating mechanical handling equipment (training provided), maintaining a clean and organised warehouse, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Receive deliveries and maintain delivery notes and paperwork.
Update ERP systems accurately
Support inventory management and conduct regular stock checks.
Efficiently and accurately pick orders.
Operate mechanical handling equipment and forklift (training provided).
Maintain a clean and organised warehouse and loading bay area.
Work to improve and optimise storage solutions.
Maintain and update the COSHH register
Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment
Forklift licence or experience operating warehouse equipment
Knowledge of ERP/FMS software
Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting
