About the Role

As the Schools Finance Team Manager, you'll lead a highly skilled and experienced team delivering traded finance services to maintained schools across Warwickshire. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring schools receive consistent, high-quality financial advice, supporting both strategic and operational financial planning, monitoring, compliance and reporting.

You’ll work collaboratively with schools, providing support and challenge where needed to encourage sound financial decision-making and accountability. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and Education, you’ll also play a key role in quality assuring the work of the team, making sure they are up to date with all legal and policy changes, meeting deadlines and monitoring schools' financial performance.

What We’re Looking For

Substantial experience in a professional finance environment, ideally supporting schools or academies.
Proven ability to manage and develop teams, with up to 15 FTEs reporting to you.
In-depth knowledge of the rules, frameworks, and statutory guidance governing school funding.
Highly competent in analysing complex data and presenting it clearly to non-financial colleagues and key stakeholders.
Strong judgement, resilience under pressure, and the confidence to make significant decisions.
A collaborative and supportive approach, with the ability to challenge constructively to drive improvement.
A passion for continuous improvement and digital innovation in service delivery.
A relevant qualification school finance, business or accountancy qualification.
