About the role
As the Head of Strategic Assets, you will be accountable for developing, leading, and implementing the organisation's overarching asset management strategy.
This is a critical leadership opportunity to shape the future of our assets, driving innovation, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our organisation and the communities we serve.
The Head of Strategic Assets will Head the management of the Fleet, Facilities and Stores department, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the police force.
What you will be doing
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, developing and implementing the long-term asset management strategy, and leading performance and planning by using asset data and a risk-based model for investment decisions.
The role also involves budget management, ensuring compliance and managing risk, championing sustainability and innovation, leading and mentoring a team, and engaging with stakeholders.
On behalf of the PCC and the Chief Constable the postholder will ensure compliance and management of statutory obligations
About you and your experience
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to advise / present to all levels of staff including senior management. Demonstrable experience in managing staff in confined areas in a proactive and empowering manner. Proven Ability to take ownership of problems and make risk-based assessments over the use of resources and management of situations.
Required skills and experience
Professional qualification relevant to the role (ie CIPs, Supplies, Fleet or Estate related).
Excellent negotiating/influencing skills,
Experience in working in a fleet/transport, estate and facilities management environment, with both management and technical responsibilities
Demonstrable experience in managing change
Full Driving License
