Operations Manager (Haulage)
*6 month fixed term contract with possibility of extension*
Salary: Competitive plus Veolia benefits
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
Location: Bromley

What you'll be doing;
- Ensure the cost effective management of the services on the Bromley contract, including Haulage operations known as Veolia Haulage London (VHL).
- Manage a circa 30+ employee workforce.
- Ensure staff are fully trained and identify areas of training needed to ensure that the workforce is competent and feels empowered and motivated.
- Responsible for the safety of the workforce and ensuring a safety first culture is at the centre of activities and all HR processes are adhered to.
- Ensure haulage routes are efficient and provide service excellence for customers.
- Maximise and fully utilise the haulage fleet.
- Ensure the budget is met, reviewed and costs monitored.
- Ensure compliance on the contract.
- Work to reduce absence, accidents and injuries.
- Ensure effective management of any defects and ensure that all damage to property and vehicles is reported promptly.
- Maintain and evolve a partnership approach with customers and the wider business.
- Produce monthly reports on KPI'S.
- Look at data of driving hours to excel revenue from the trucks (reschedule / rerouting jobs).
- Hold team meetings and update the Contract Manager.
What we're looking for;
Essential:
- Experience of people management, developing and training teams.
- IOSH and good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Experience within municipal waste services.
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Road Haulage.
- Strong communication skills.
- IT literate with experience using operational management systems.
- Valid UK driving licence.
