The current vacancy is for a Support for Learning Assistant Grade B working 27.5 Hours/week, term-time. Working under the direction of the Resource Manager, you will be responsible for

School Support

Provide support in the Home Economics Department with the ordering and preparation of food items for classes. Assist with the provision of a safe school environment by supervising pupils within the school and particularly within the dining room, playground, cloakrooms, lavatories and on educational excursions as required. This will include, for example the following:

  • Ordering items from menu plans.
  • Food Preparation, stock rotation and resource management
  • Preparation of resources to support effective learning & teaching
  • Effective collaboration with teaching staff
  • Practice safe and hygienic food handling and management.

The successful candidate must be driven and able to work with independence and self-direction and hold an up to date relevant food hygiene certificate.

Clerical Support

Providing general clerical support within the school. This will include, for example the following:

  • Carrying out photocopying;
  • Ancillary support during social times – interval/lunchtime
  • Reception, telephone and office cover;
  • Receiving and reconciling cash;
  • Assisting with the requisitioning of materials;
  • Reconciling and distribution/storage of goods received;
  • Maintenance of stock
  • Data input onto school systems;
  • Accessing pupil information as required by the class teacher.

You will be based primarily in a single school and will work anywhere within the school including within the grounds of the base school. On occasion, the post holder may be asked to work at another school to cover service demands.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
