The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and experienced Post-16 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision in the Edgware area. The setting supports young adults aged 16+ with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing personalised learning pathways that promote independence, confidence, and future progression.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, structured, and inclusive Post-16 environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for learners with Autism
* Implement tailored strategies to support behavioural, emotional, and sensory needs
* Assist in creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
* Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes and life-skills activities
* Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, families, and staff
* Promote independence and communication through consistent routines and support
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting young people with Autism (ASD)
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Commitment to inclusive education and learner development
* Understanding of safeguarding, well-being, and SEND best practice
