Looking for a truly rewarding 1:1 role where your support will change the course of a child's education?
This rewarding 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role places you at the heart of a Year 4 classroom, supporting a pupil with ASD and challenging behaviour to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.
Long Term Futures are working closely with a welcoming, Ofsted-rated "Good" primary school in Aldermans Green (CV2) to appoint a confident, resilient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with Team Teach training. You will provide dedicated, consistent support to a Year 4 boy with ASD and behavioural needs, helping him engage positively with learning and daily routines.
Working alongside the class teacher, SENDCo and inclusion team, you will follow an individualised behaviour and learning plan, apply de-escalation techniques and deliver structured, calm support throughout the school day. Your presence will be key in reducing incidents, improving engagement and building trust through strong, professional relationships.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience supporting pupils with ASD and challenging behaviour
- Team Teach training
- Confidence using de-escalation, regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and/or at least 12 months' school-based TA experience
- Experience delivering 1:1 support and simple intervention sessions
- Good understanding of the UK primary curriculum
- Calm, patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
