Play a Key Role in a Supportive Specialist Setting
A specialist SEN provision in the PE11 area is seeking a caring, calm and motivated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, communication needs, complex profiles and SEMH challenges.
This is a setting where nurture, structure and consistency help pupils build confidence, develop life skills and engage positively in learning. If you're passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and feel valued, this role could be an excellent fit.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing thoughtful support to pupils 1:1 or in small groups
- Helping deliver structured, differentiated learning activities
- Building positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional and social development
- Supporting communication, engagement and sensory needs
- Encouraging independence through hands-on, practical and classroom-based tasks
- Helping maintain a calm, predictable environment where pupils feel secure
- Working closely with staff to ensure every child receives personalised support
You'll Be a Great Fit If You Have:
- Experience as a TA/LSA or supporting young people in a school or care setting
- Confidence supporting pupils with SEN, communication needs or SEMH challenges
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- A genuine passion for helping pupils progress in both learning and confidence
