Summary

£12.46 per hour | Full-time / Part-time / Occasional Hours | Greenacres

“It’s like watching mini-miracles happen here every day.”

That’s how one of our team describes the difference they make. If you’re kind, compassionate, and ready to help others live life their way, we’d love to hear from you.

A home, not just a service

Greenacres is a nursing home for disabled adults in the suburban area of Sutton Coldfield, which is just outside of Birmingham. The service is warm and vibrant and home for up to 33 people aged 18 to 90.

As a Support Worker, you'll play a hands-on role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to young adults and older residents with complex nursing needs in a busy, fast-paced 33-bed home. You'll support individuals with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries and long-term health conditions, helping with all aspects of daily living – from personal care, hoisting and mobility, to accompanying people to medical appointments.

Your working hours

We offer full-time, part-time and occasional hours.

You’ll need to be flexible to work across weekdays and weekends as part of a rota

• Days (7am - 7pm, 7am - 4pm, 1pm - 7pm)
• Nights (7pm - 7am)

Why you’ll love working here

As well as supporting your wellbeing and career development, we offer a fantastic benefits package, including:

• 28 days holiday per annum inclusive of bank holidays (+1 day every year up to 33 days)
• Stream: Access up to 40% of your pay before payday
• Free Blue Light Card: Enjoy exclusive discounts and perks
• Contributory Pension Scheme with competitive life cover
• Health cash plan: Affordable healthcare when you need it
• Career development: Apprenticeships and recognised qualifications
• Free DBS check
• Employee Assistance Programme for 24/7 support

From 1 December 2025 new enhancement rates of £1.00 per hour will apply to weekend working only (8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-Ins.

What you’ll do

• Support with daily living tasks such as personal care, mealtimes, and medication
• Encourage independence through a person-centred approach
• Accompany people to appointments, events, and community activities
• Keep clear, accurate records
• Most importantly – help each person live life on their own terms
No previous care experience? No problem – we’ll give you all the training you need.

What helps you shine here

• Warm, friendly, and empathetic approach
• Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Personal care experience (helpful, but not essential)
• A genuine desire to help others and make a difference
Whether you’re experienced or brand new to care, our comprehensive induction and training will help you thrive.
