Summary

Job Summary
You will play a pivotal role in providing excellent support in care for residents. Your daily tasks as a cook include preparing appetising and nutritious food, creating rotating menus based on residents’ preferences, maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing food orders within budget, and accommodating dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities

- Prepare breakfast and offer cooked options as requested
- Ensure all meals are ready at appropriate times
- Offer and prepare at least three lunch options daily with fresh vegetables
- Delegate and oversee kitchen assistant tasks
- Prepare desserts for lunch and supper
- Prepare or delegate supper dishes and sandwiches
- Bake fresh cakes for afternoon tea and special occasions
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and food safety protocols
- Label and store food appropriately
- Maintain kitchen protocol and hygiene standards
- Defrost frozen foods in advance

What You Will Need

- Previous experience as a cook
- Genuine interest in elderly care
- Willingness to undertake vocational training
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Support planning and mentoring experience (desirable)
- Experience in nursing environments and palliative care (desired)
- Training or coaching qualifications (desired)
- Good IT skills and satisfactory Disclosure upon application
