Role OverviewAs a Security Officer at Derby Magistrates Court, you will help protect staff, visitors, and assets by following the site's Assignment Instructions and maintaining a strong, visible security presence. You'll ensure the smooth running of security operations, deliver excellent service, and support contract performance through accountability and high standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Duties
-Follow all site Assignment Instructions and stay up to date with any changes
-Maintain compliance with all policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements
-Suggest improvements where you see opportunities to enhance service
-Ensure all required licences (SIA Door Supervisor essential; CCTV PSS desirable) are valid and worn while on duty
-Work methodically, follow procedures, and maintain a professional approach at all times
Training & Development
-Complete all mandatory competency training
-Embrace ongoing learning to support professional growth
-Use on-site technology effectively and keep knowledge current
-Ensure your licence is renewed at least 16 weeks before expiry
Security & Health & Safety
-Stay alert to safety risks and report hazards immediately
-Respond appropriately to threats or changes in the environment
-Handle challenging situations with calm professionalism
-Record detailed and accurate reports after incidents
-Complete scheduled check calls as required and follow emergency procedures
What We're Looking For
-Previous security experience
-Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
-CCTV PSS licence desirable
-SC Clearance desirable
-A professional, proactive, and reliable approach
