Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an extremely inclusive and supportive mainstream primary school in Ellesmere Port as they are looking for an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis from January. This is a full-time contract that will last the rest of the academic year where you will play an integral part in the education of a select group of pupils across KS1 and KS2 with EHCP's.
You will work in collaboration with class teachers and the SENCO to devise and deliver comprehensive interventions in required area's for pupils with SEN. These interventions will include ELSA, speech and language and behavioural support. Other duties will include:

  • Supporting during break and lunch times
  • Direct liaison with the SENCO and head teacher on pupil progress, including recognising key milestones and giving valid input during meetings
  • Completing personal/intimate care


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:

  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEN (experience within a resource provision, SEND school or residential service is advantageous)
  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
  • Having and NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
