Retail Supervisor
Band 3 - 37.5 hours per week

A Retail Supervisor is a key link between management and sales staff, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store or department, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing a team to meet sales targets. They effectively manage the shop floor and may act as the person in charge in the manager's absence

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management: Supervise, motivate, train, and mentor the retail team. This also includes planning work schedules, assigning duties, and assisting with the recruitment and performance management of new staff.

Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive prompt service and that their inquiries, complaints, or issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner.

Store Operations: Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

The postholder is responsible for ensuring the provision of the Trust Retail Catering Service to high standard on a day to day basis.

Responsible for assisting (where appropriate) the Retail Manager and Head Chef, with the operational activities within the other sections of the Catering Department.

A key responsibility will be ensuring that all activity carried out within the retail section of the Catering Department is carried out within the guidelines of the legal requirements of Food Safety legislation and HACCP. In addition, the postholder will be expected to lead by example and promote excellent customer service on daily basis.

The post holder must be commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence the day-to-day business, as well as being forward thinking and actively seeking to drive the business forward.
