Summary
Job Overview: The candidate should have the skills and experience to deliver varying fabric repairs and small project tasks covering a range of building trades.
The role will include the completion of reactive maintenance tasks received via the Mitie onsite helpdesk. The candidate should have the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a complex working environment. Previous experience with operating woodworking machinery in a workshop environment would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided.
The candidate should have the ability to liaise with internal customers, the client and engineers at all levels.
A background in Fire Door inspections and repairs would be beneficial, however full training can be provided to the successful candiate.
Main Duties: General repairs and maintenance to the building fabric, including carpentry, tiling, wall and floor repairs. Painting and decorating (as and when required) Flooring repairs to include hard flooring, and carpet tiles. Basic plumbing maintenance and repairs. Basic plastering for making good damaged walls. Stock management of departments consumables. Relocation or removal of furniture. Hosting of subcontractors. Flexibility to work out of hours and at weekends. Fire Door inspections and repairs. What we are looking for: Skilled operative qualified to a C&G or NVQ in a fabric trade, such as carpentry, joinery or plumbing. Someone with previous experience of working as a fabric technician with a high degree of strong customer service experience. Ability to be proactive and identify opportunities for growth. Experience of PDA technology for reporting and completion of jobs is essential, as this forms part of the process to complete and sign off each job.
