Learning Support Assistant
A SEND school based in Stockton are looking for a Learning Support Assistant for a full time role.
The students who attend are diagnosed with Autism and are aged from 16 to 19 years old.
The role involves supporting students in their lessons, during breaks and quiet times whilst also ensuring their emotional needs are met. Some students require personal care too.
This role has the potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
- Term-Time only, Mon to Friday 8.30-15:30
- Starting immediately
- Supporting children and young people who have Autism
- Supporting the students with their learning and wellbeing including whole class, 1-2-1 and small group support
- Supporting with any behaviour that may arise
- Occasionally supporting learners in the community
- Helping with personal care where necessary
You
- Be dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children
- Knowledge of and an interest in special educational needs, particularly Autism
- Flexibility to support across a variety of ages
- Have a caring and compassionate nature
- Hold Right to Work in the UK - we do not offer sponsorship so please do not apply unless you are able to live and work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references
