Summary

We're seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Highways Northamptonshire team in Brixworth. In this role, you'll collaborate with the Traffic Engineering team to deliver high-quality traffic engineering and road safety schemes for our clients, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council.

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire - travel to the office required with some remote working available

Hours: Permanent, Fulltime 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us



What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you'll develop innovative traffic engineering solutions while enjoying a supportive work environment that values work-life balance and professional growth.

Your day to day will include:

-Creating and delivering high quality traffic engineering and road safety solutions to specification, programme and budget

-Developing detailed AutoCAD drawings, bills of quantities, and pre-construction information with minimal supervision

-Preparing comprehensive engineering reports, feasibility studies and technical designs aligned with national standards

-Conducting road safety audits at team leader level and identifying engineering solutions through collision investigations

-Interpreting legislation, regulations and technical guidance to ensure all designs meet compliance requirements



What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Traffic Engineer is great if you are:

-An Incorporated Engineer (or working towards IEng status) with Sector 12D T7 Traffic Management certification

-IOSH Managing Safety Certificate holder with ROSPA AIP training and experience analysing collision data

-Strong knowledge of national standards including Traffic Signs Manual and Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions

-Proficiency with AutoCAD, Keysign, Keyline and AutoTrack software
