The Role:
I client is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join their Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide professional HR services to a variety of customers, offering expert consultancy and advice on organisational design, organisational development, and employee relations. You will play a key part in driving business change, supporting team development, and shaping the council’s HR strategies in alignment with broader organizational objectives.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering HR consultancy across a range of projects and initiatives, whilst contributing to the overall development and improvement of HR services .
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior-level HR consultancy to managers and teams , focusing on business outcomes and strategic alignment.
Lead projects and program workstreams, facilitating organisational change and improvement across departments.
Advise and support managers in complex and high-risk employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies related to people management, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion.
Act as a key point of contact for trade unions, managing effective consultation and negotiation processes.
Develop and implement interventions that support positive employee relations and enhance organizational development.
Provide expert advice on HR best practices, ensuring compliance with employment law and policies.
Collaborate with HR colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and integrated HR service delivery.
What the Client is Looking For:
Proven experience in delivering HR consultancy services, with a strong focus on organisational development and change management.
Extensive knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to advise on complex employee relations cases.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including senior managers and trade unions.
Experience in supporting the development and implementation of HR policies and processes.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage projects, deliver to tight deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to work flexibly, balancing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
What the Client Offers:
Competitive hourly rate of £23.70 per hour (PAYE).
Hybrid working arrangement with flexibility to work remotely, but with some travel required within and outside the city boundary.
