Summary
TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision based in Chesterfield. The Academy is looking for a highly enthusiastic and highly skilled Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to assist with permanently excluded pupils in their learning and engagement. You will be assigned to a tutor and will assist in supporting the pupils in their learning, as well as supporting at lunch and break times. The Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistantwill be working in classes of up to 10 pupils or on a one-to-one basis depending on the needs of the class teacher.
The Head Teacher is looking to take on a driven Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, on a Long-Term basis until 31.08.26. This will lead to a permanent position for the right Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant. The successful candidate will have had experience in working with disaffected pupils in either a school or separate setting. You will need to have great resilience, a sense of humour and be able to think outside the box with the pupils.
The role will also require some travel between the Academy’s other sites for meetings and training. It could also include transporting students in your own car. This will need you to add business use to your car insurance policy.
The successful Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, will have:
