Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Employability team, a vital and dynamic part of HRUC (Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges). You would be responsible for identifying new work experience opportunities for students. Working closely with the curriculum teams, you would maintain a database of work experience placements and organise the setting up and operation of work experience arrangements. Responsibilities will involve liaising with work providers, students and College staff and maintaining effective systems for the monitoring of placements. The role will involve visiting employers’ premises and carrying out risk assessment checks.
You will be a pro-active, organised individual with strong administrative skills, including experience of working with databases/systems and Microsoft Office software. You will have excellent communication skills with good attention to detail and will be able to work flexibly and on your own initiative. You will also be willing and able to travel to other college campuses and occasionally local employers as/when required.
Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2026). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.
Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group (HRUC) and is one of London’s most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old’s and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and developed a brand-new technology-focused STEM Centre in 2024.
This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links – it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
