Salary: Up to £15.60 per hour
Hours: 44 hours per week
Shift: Monday to Thursday 07.00 to 17.00 and Friday 07.00 to 14.30

We are looking for a practical, hands on Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team in a busy workshop environment. This role suits someone who enjoys building high quality work from the ground up and takes pride in getting the details right. Full training will be provided and you will be joining a supportive team that values reliability, quality and a positive work ethic.
Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Fitter/ Vehicle Bodybuilder / Assembly Technician
• Work independently using your own initiative to meet targets and quality standards
• Read engineering drawings and work effectively from work orders
• Use hand tools, bench saws and measurement equipment safely
• Install insulated panels onto commercial vehicle bodies
• Carry out electrical terminations including lighting, switches and tail lifts
• Seal joints, floors and roofs using silicone and gel coatings
• Cut metals, woods and plastics using hand tools and bench equipment
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all work areas
• Carry out reasonable tasks or projects requested by management
• Work in line with all health and safety, quality and compliance procedures
• Demonstrate good time keeping and professional conduct
• Follow safety and company process changes as required
Skills and Qualifications for a Mechanical Fitter/ Vehicle Bodybuilder / Assembly Technician
Essential
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to work safely using tools and workshop equipment
• Positive attitude and pride in producing high quality work
• Reliable transport or ability to travel to the site
Desirable
• Experience within vehicle bodybuilding or commercial vehicle assembly
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
