If so iCaSH Milton Keynes are looking for a full time (37.5 hours p/w) Sexual Health Outreach and Prevention Practitioner.

This could be a Band 5 post for someone with previous experience or the opportunity for this to be a Band 4 developmental post (moving to Band 5 after training).

This post will be responsible for the delivery of sexual health prevention, Chlamydia screening, HIV point of care testing (POCT) and condom distribution.

Hours will be flexible to include evenings and weekends

Work collaboratively as part of the iCaSH team to provide a comprehensive and confidential service for service users presenting with contraceptive or sexual health needs.

Deliver outreach services to target groups which are relevant to their lifestyle and sexual practices including:
• Promoting condoms and personal sexual health strategies.
• Offering advice and information about sexual and reproductive health and signposting to clinical services.
• Helping service users to assess their sexual and reproductive health needs and referring them to appropriate clinics and other services.
• Providing Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening kits toasymptomatic target groups.
• Offering and providing HIV point of care tests (POCT) to target groups.
• Providing support in terms of safer sexual practices.
• Providing C-Card training and condom provision for 13–24-year-olds.
• Developing and providing a range of sexual and reproductive health training courses.

Participate in the planning, organisation, preparation and delivery of training and outreach sessions; to groups of staff or other professionals who work with targeted client groups, in various settings. This includes setting up stalls and equipment at events.

Provide effective health promotion and sexual health awareness raising for young people in universities/schools/events etc. Search for new contacts, venues, and community links to expand the Outreach offer.

Offer screening and condoms/lube during community events, awareness raising sessions and signposting to clinics and on-line services.

Support delivery of HIV POCT as part of the local service provision.

Provide sexual health advice to service users who may be at risk of STIs, blood borne viruses, risk of pregnancy and signpost to appropriate services.

Provide a safe environment and non-judgemental approach to enable service users to ask questions and discuss concerns.

Working with the Outreach & Prevention Co-Ordinator, establish and maintain relationships of trust and a collaborative approach with community leaders, faith leaders, organisations, networks and individuals to deliver co-produced sexual and reproductive health interventions.

Assist with campaigns and events such as World AIDS Day, National HIV Testing Week, Sexual Health Week, LGBT+ History Month, Pride, Black History Month and other promotions and events.

Promote the service effectively and participate in joint working initiatives.

Participate in the iCaSH social media platforms and digital engagement including netreach, as required by the service.

Working with the Outreach & Prevention Co-Ordinator, attend Local Sexual Health Outreach Partnership Groups to represent iCaSH Outreach & Prevention service.

Maintain up-to-date database of key partners.

Contribute to day-to-day administration including supporting the supply of Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening kits and C-Card supplies to our partners as requested.

Promote and support the C-Card scheme encouraging stakeholders to enrol onto the programme.

Record outreach activity, ensuring data is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

Report any noticeable changes or themes to Line manager and suggesting any improvements to the service.

Work as part of a team, attend team meetings and supervision sessions and plan and discuss work with other team members.

Communication

Provide advice, information, education to service users within level of competence, referring to senior staff where appropriate.

Work with service users to assess risk and to provide information about and discussion of risk-taking behaviour and risk reduction.

Record interventions accurately and concisely and keep confidential records.

Adapt communication and language to suit service user group/audience and to establish good working relationships with key stakeholders.

Liaise with and exchange information with other sexual health outreach services as relevant for the management of patients/clients.

Work collaboratively with all Cambridgeshire Community Services iCaSH Services to ensure a corporate approach.

People Management

Maintain own professional development and take part in appraisal process.

The post holder must carry out his/her duties with regard to Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust Equal Opportunities Policy at all times.

Participate in a yearly appraisal and development review where relevant objectives are set.

Be responsible for own compliance for mandatory training requirements.

Assist with teaching and education to individuals and groups from within and outside the service.

Clinical and Practice Governance

Observe and maintain strict confidentiality with regards to any patient/family/staff/records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

Any data that is taken/shared as part of a phone call, transported or transferred electronically must be undertaken with regard to the Trust Information Governance and Information Security policies.

Adhere to the Trust risk assessment and risk management processes.

Adhere to the Trust infection prevention and control policies and procedures.

Undertake mandatory training and any other training relevant to the role as required by the Trust

Participate in audits as required.

Participate in relevant emergency preparedness process for their team.

General
