Job Title: Optimisation Engineer
Location: Walsall
Salary: £34,000 - £42,000 plus Car Allowance
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the water industry's most critical challenges while developing your
expertise across data, network operations, and strategic resolution planning. IWS M&E is part of the South Staffordshire Group –
a 3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering
long-term development and career progression.
We are now looking for a motivated Optimisation Engineer to join our Energy, Carbon & Resilience team and help drive improvements
across clean and recycled water systems.
The Role:
* Conducting site surveys, including pump performance assessments and system testing
* Producing clear and accurate survey reports
* Identifying optimisation opportunities and system improvements
* Highlighting pump refurbishment or replacement options
* Carrying out cost and payback analysis for proposed solutions
* Working directly with client representatives to support decision-making
* Contributing to IWS and client Health & Safety initiatives
What you’ll need:
* Be self-motivated and able to work independently
* Hold an engineering qualification (minimum HNC) or have completed a relevant apprenticeship
* Have good IT skills, particularly with MS Office
* Bring experience from a technical environment (education or work placement)
* Communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing
* Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and produce high-quality documentation
* Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and clients
* Be comfortable working towards targets
* Be willing to work away up to 2 nights per week
* Hold a full UK driving licence
