Summary

Secondary Supply Teacher (Flexible Work)

Are you a qualified teacher looking for flexibility, variety, and competitive daily pay without the commitment of a permanent contract? We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Supply Teachers to work with our partner schools across the region.

This role is ideal for those seeking to return to teaching, newly qualified teachers looking to gain broad experience, or experienced educators seeking a better work-life balance.

The Role: Your Day-to-Day

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will:

  • Cover Short-Term Absences: Teach pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups (Key Stage 3, 4, and occasionally 5), ensuring continuity of learning for students aged 11-18.

  • Maintain Classroom Management: Effectively manage the classroom environment in line with each school's policy, ensuring a calm, safe, and productive atmosphere.

  • Deliver Prepared Work: Follow all instructions and schemes of work left by the absent teacher, focusing on student engagement and task completion.

  • Leave Comprehensive Feedback: Report back to the permanent class teacher and Head of Department on the work covered, student behaviour, and any issues encountered.

  • Adapt Quickly: Be prepared to work in different schools and settings, sometimes receiving bookings on the morning of the work.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and recent experience teaching in UK secondary schools.

  • A strong ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the confidence to take control of an unfamiliar class.

  • Professional flexibility, reliability, and punctuality are essential.

  • A commitment to maintaining high professional standards and safeguarding procedures.

  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle due to the requirement to travel between different schools and potential short-notice bookings.

What We Offer
  • Unrivalled Flexibility: Choose the days you want to work, fitting work around your personal commitments.

  • Competitive Daily Rates: Excellent pay, paid weekly.

  • Variety: Experience teaching in diverse school environments and different subject areas.

  • A Dedicated Consultant: Full support from a specialist consultant to manage your bookings and career path.
