Are you an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist passionate about elderly care? Do you thrive in a fast-paced acute setting and want to make a real difference? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team!
We have an opportunity for you to work closely with our Clinical Specialist OT to deliver and develop holistic services in acute elderly care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead specialist OT services for elderly patients, with an emphasis on frailty, cognition, and neurology.
· Deliver expert clinical assessments and interventions timeously, ensuring rapid, evidence-based decisions.
· Supervise and mentor junior staff, supporting strong team management.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic care and effective discharge planning.
· Drive service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
· Qualified Band 6 or 7 OT with experience in acute elderly care or frailty.
· Specialist knowledge of geriatric conditions across a range of medical specialities, including cognitive and neurological disorders.
· Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
· Ability to review, influence, and promote positive changes aligned with the Trust’s vision.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development.
To provide specialist standard of Occupational Therapy service to patients within the acute elderly units with a special focus on the assessment of the acute elderly patients, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries using a holistic approach.
To give highly specialist guidance, advice and education to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) on matters relating to your specialist area.
Provide leadership for your team (in conjunction with the Clinical Leads) in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service provided to patients within your area.
To provide a lead role in teaching, supervising and appraising peers, Band 6, Band 5, Student Occupational Therapists and Generic Therapy Assistants

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
