Remote-Based Working Role (09:00 - 17:00)
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Quality & Compliance professional to join our award-winning, Ofsted GOOD-rated national training provider. This full-time role includes an interim responsibility for the Safeguarding Lead function during maternity leave, while primarily focusing on quality assurance, compliance, and tutor development across apprenticeship and functional skills delivery.
This is a growth opportunity with a strong likelihood of progression into a management role, with future line management responsibilities as the team expands.
You’ll lead on quality assurance and compliance across apprenticeship and functional skills provision, support tutor development, and ensure robust safeguarding practices during the interim period. You’ll work closely with Senior Tutors and curriculum leads to drive continuous improvement and prepare for future leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as interim Safeguarding Lead during maternity leave, ensuring timely response to safeguarding concerns and supporting the wider safeguarding team
- Conduct observations of teaching and learning across apprenticeship and functional skills delivery
- Support Tutors with accurate off-the-job training recording and compliance coaching
- Assist with internal audits and preparation for external quality assurance visits
- Monitor and report on quality and compliance across apprenticeship, ALS, and Functional Skills delivery
- Support the development and implementation of Tutor CPD plans, working closely with Senior Tutors
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and assessment practices
- Collaborate with curriculum leads to ensure delivery aligns with sector best practice and learner needs
- Prepare for future line management responsibilities as the role evolves
- Evaluate and improve inclusive teaching through shadowing, coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with Tutors to embed accessibility and progression into curriculum design
- Champion inclusive careers education and support apprentices in overcoming barriers
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in quality assurance, safeguarding, and apprenticeship compliance
- Strong understanding of DfE funding rules, OTJ training, and audit processes
- Experience conducting teaching observations and supporting tutor development
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills
- Level 5 + Teaching qualification (e.g DTLLS, CertEd, PGCE)
- Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent IQA qualification)
- Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
- Robust knowledge of Safeguarding, Prevent, and Equality & Diversity
- Familiarity with OneFile and other e-portfolio systems
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training – recent and relevant
- Strong knowledge of DfE funding rules and ILR compliance
Desirable Certifications:
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
- Coaching or Mentoring Qualification – e.g. ILM Level 3 or 5
- Functional Skills Tutor Certification
- Mental Health First Aid Certification – desirable for safeguarding and learner wellbeing support
