Head of Partnerships and Community Engagement
The University of Southampton is a world-leading, research-intensive university and a proud civic anchor for our city and region. Through our Triple Helix approach - linking education, research and enterprise - we drive innovation, social mobility and economic growth.

We’re looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Partnerships and Civic Affairs function, strengthening our relationships across local and regional government, business and community partners.

About the role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Corporate Engagement, you’ll lead our Partnerships and Civic Affairs team - building trusted relationships with civic, political and community stakeholders to enhance the University’s influence and reputation.

You’ll work closely with the Civic University delivery team to shape engagement ahead of regional devolution, and with Estates and Facilities to support our Master Plan and promote Southampton as a great place to study, work and live. Internally, you’ll connect colleagues, students, SUSU and academics to deliver joined-up, meaningful outcomes for our region.

About you

You’ll be an experienced leader in external affairs, partnerships or civic engagement, skilled at navigating political environments and building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. You’ll bring strategic insight, excellent communication and strong stakeholder management skills to position the University as a trusted civic partner and regional leader.

Join us to help shape Southampton’s future—locally, nationally and globally.

Apply by uploading your CV and a cover letter detailing how your skills and experience match the requirements of the role.
