ABOUT US

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead and inspire across our software and quality engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Be hands on in implementing and evolve our Automation Test Strategy, ensuring alignment with wider engineering and business objectives and enabling true CI/CD and many-releases per day.

  • Drive advanced software testing techniques, applying risk-based and strategic approaches to ensure robust quality.

  • Develop and enhance automation frameworks in C#, Typescript, solving complex challenges independently and extending capabilities where needed.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and champion best practices across teams.

  • Perform exploratory and non-functional testing, including performance and security.

  • Mentor and coach colleagues, helping them grow technically and professionally.

  • Influence strategic decisions on tooling, frameworks, and quality processes.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape quality engineering roadmaps.

  • Implement, review, contribute and mentor at every layer across testing.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you have experience in the following areas, we'd love to hear from you:

Technical Expertise

  • Strong background in Testing & Quality Assurance, including automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, JUnit, Appium, RestAssured).

  • Proficiency in C# & Typescript with experience in REST API development and microservice architectures.

  • In-depth understanding of performance testing (Loadrunner, Bees-with-machine-guns)

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD integration, test data management, and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, X-ray).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and absolute comfort with Containers, Serverless and Ephemeral infrastructure for branch testing, etc.

Leadership & Strategic Thinking

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers within multi-skilled teams.

  • Ability to set direction, influence strategy, and drive process improvements.

  • A self-starter mindset, comfortable working autonomously and making decisions that shape the future of quality engineering.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders and advocate for quality.

  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
