Summary
Clinical Responsibilities: Provide anaesthetic care for elective and day-case surgery within the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Lewisham Surgical Centre Deliver anaesthesia for ENT, orthopaedics, general, colorectal, urology and obstetrics & gynaecology cases. Participate in pre-operative assessment and peri-operative optimisation. Support Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of patient care. Education, Training and Audit: Teach and supervise trainees and allied professionals. Participate in weekly academic and governance meetings. Engage in audit, research and QI, presenting findings locally or nationally. Governance and Service Development: Participate in clinical governance, policy review, and service evaluation. Contribute to ACSA, GIRFT, and peri-operative medicine development. Support service development of the Lewisham Surgical Centre.
