Netherfield House Surgery Job Description for Salaried GPResponsible To the Practice GP PartnersJob Purpose - To use professional skills and knowledge to provide a high standard of primary and continuing medical care to patients in line with the GMS contract - Contribute to the delivery of patient services in line with ICB requirements - Effective clinical administration audit and management appropriate to the role - Contribute to the Practice team by being an effective team memberDuties and Responsibilities - Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS contract including patient consultations duty doctor cover and home visits when required This should take into account physical psychological and social factors when diagnosing illness treating diseases tending to injuries and recommending treatment To work in accordance with the Practice rota system for a variety of consultation types in a timely manner Currently this stands at 12 x 15 minute appointments per session - Collect record and maintain patient information such as medical history reports and examination results Information is recorded on the practices clinical system SystmOne and this information should be recorded accurately using templates and read codes and in a timely manner ARDENS is available Comply with all the objectives of the GMS Contract QOF targets and ICB requirements for Local Enhanced Servies where needed etc - Work in accordance with Practice clinical procedures and protocols All work within the practice is governed by protocols and procedures alongside other additional governance requirements from outside organisations including GMC Department of Health ICB etc - Request perform andor interpret tests and records reports and examination information to assist in the diagnosis of a patients condition Prescribe or administer treatment therapy medication vaccination and other appropriate medical care to treat or prevent illness disease or injury Monitor the condition of patients and progress and re-evaluate andor change treatments as required - Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners appropriately when necessary and in a timely manner Referral management is key to the success of the ICB and compliance with protocols and procedures for referral is key - Promote health education in conjunction with other health care professionals and have an awareness of the local health and social issues - Carry out clinical audits as appropriate - Liaise with other healthcare professionals when required to include supporting the nursing team - Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patientPractice relationship This includes compliance with the Practices Confidentiality Policy and Information Governance policy - Recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and communicate effectively with team members patients carers and other colleagues and health care professionals - Take an active role and contribute to Practice meetings where possible and appropriate - Support the compliance of the Practice Health and Safety policy Work safely at all times in accordance with legislative and practice policies and procedures - Participate in the GP revalidation and appraisal scheme Maintain a portfolio of continuing professional development activities - Maintain medical knowledge and skill level in line with your Personal Development Plan and for the safe delivery of clinical care within the Practice Keep up-to-date with medical developments medication and treatments Attend Practice training sessions as appropriate and required - Attend Practice training sessions as appropriate and required - Comply with all the objectives of the GMS Contract ICB requirements and PCN arrangements - Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures - Undertake any other duties requested by the Partners or Managing Partner within professional and general competence This job description is not a comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities but a guide The job description can be amended in line with the requirements of the Practice and for the delivery of patient care PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGIES FOR THE FORMAT OF THIS AS WE CANNOT USE COMMAS FULL STOP OR BULLET POINTS IN THE TEXT ON THE NHS JOBS SITE
