The Role: Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
You will join the successful estimating and preconstruction team, working on refurbishment and fit-out schemes up to £4m in value. This dual role combines estimating duties with cost management responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
Site survey and scoping, including scope price build-up
Preparing accurate cost estimates and conducting cost analysis
Managing budgets, valuations, and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve issues
Assessing cost effectiveness and identifying potential financial risks
PQQ/ITT/ITN support and submissions
Subcontract enquiry management and procurement
Adjusting estimates and budgets based on project changes
Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs
Liaising with multiple customers and managing departmental tasks
Producing pre-construction deliverables and enforcing quality standards
Sharing best practices and aligning with core business values
Ensuring timely turnaround of quotations and meeting SLAs
Supporting departmental growth with innovative approaches
The Right Person:
We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in fast-paced construction schemes. You should have:
Experience in both estimating and quantity surveying functions
Familiarity with multi-trade estimating
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
Strong IT skills and adaptability to relevant software
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Diligence, reliability, and a proactive approach
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Working Hours: 8:00 – 17:00
