Summary
About the role:
Lead and develop the delivery of improved finance business services to the councils internal customers, using business and emotional intelligence to support the council by influencing strategy and business outcomes.

* Ability to interpret data, forecast trends, and align financial decisions with organizational goals.
* Skilled in motivating and guiding teams to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
*Expertise in creating, managing, and optimizing budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation.
*Strong ability to present complex financial information clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Analytical mindset to tackle challenges and make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
*Extensive post-qualification experience in public sector finance, with a proven track record in partnership working, commissioning, and delivering customer- focused services.
What you will do:
*Oversee daily financial services through effective budgeting, analysis, and efficiency programs to meet objectives.
*Provide strategic financial advice and business intelligence to improve performance and deliver operational strategies.
*Lead financial aspects of business cases and change, including commercial operating models and stakeholder engagement.
*Develop and train staff in financial modelling, using cost drivers, ratios, trends, and pricing to assess service changes.
*Enhance financial skills and promote collaboration, maintaining strong customer focus and independent judgment.
*Ensure compliance and timely input into annual activities, policy updates, audits, and legislative changes.
This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS check
