The Role

Duty times: 8:10 – 08.55 and 14:55 – 15:30 Monday to Friday) (6.40 hours per week) Monday- Friday

Our school crossing patrols provide a valuable service to the local community by ensuring that children and adults can cross the road safely on their route to and from school.

Your duties will include:

Ensure safe road crossing for children and pedestrians during patrol times
Stop traffic using the official ‘STOP’ sign
Conduct pre-duty health and safety checks of the crossing site
Report any hazards, equipment issues, or site concerns to the Patrol Officer
Wear and maintain approved uniform and equipment

New recruits receive full training to ensure they feel confident and fully prepared to carry out this vital role safely and effectively.

A DBS is required for this role, the cost of which is met by North Yorkshire Council.
